Jack post - The different types of lally columns
There
are basically different types of lally columns available in the market namely
steel columns, mono posts as well as Jack posts. The Steel columns are also
known as fixed length columns or even structural columns which are
non-adjustable. The entire column is filled with their concrete and has a
monolithic design which is very strong. Mono post is also referred as an
adjustable supportive column and is also termed as the tele post. Perhaps this is one of the columns that is designed to
be permanent building column but before purchasing it is essential to examine
and conclude.
These
type of columns are completely assembled and are also specified as
self-contaminated units. The length of adjustment is more specified which is up
to 12 feet. Concrete is filled in the posts in order to make sure that they are
fixed permanently. Moreover, The Adjustment of the nut and screw must be placed
right at the footer itself. The Beam plate is also used at the top of the
column to secure it and provide which it support. Even an adjustable base set
is placed at the bottom in order to eliminate any sort of lateral movement in
it.
Floor
Jacks also called as screw Jacks are designed to be temporary support columns
and there does not require any assembly. They are fully adjustable and also
have Double carriage not as well as bolts that will help in providing
additional strength and support. Even they can be adjusted up to 12 feet long
and is perhaps considered as one of the weakest support column types.
The
jack post
also referred as floor jacks or jack posts that are designed to act as
temporary support to columns. However, these type of posts often requires
assembling that are completely adjustable along with dual carriage not as well
as bolts that will help in strengthening and also provide safety. With an
adjustable length of about 12 feet and to reduce the chance of crushing the
number or breaking through the concrete floor a minimum of 1/2″ steel plate
need to be placed.
